CONDOR - A Regional Analysis Tool for Evaluating Infrastructure Projects in the Andes

Silvio Olivieri
Lata Iyer

Infrastructure projects are often conceived and executed in a climate where there is (a) lack of vision/knowledge on how the project integrates in a regional perspective; (b) lack of knowledge of the consequences of actions that modify the natural environment; (c) lack of easier access to the existing information; and (d) lack of a practice in effectively integrating environmental, social, and economic aspects in the decision making process. CONDOR is a pioneer project that addresses these issues. It is an interactive tool for early analysis of infrastructure projects and their integration in the regional context, based on best available information on the Andean region.
