Distinguishing specific data among various types of data is becoming critical as data have been building with different GIS tools and coordinating systems. In this application metadata are designed based on their relationships among others, coordinate systems, and data file types for the purpose of efficient data management in an Oracle database. Users can query spatially or nonspatially and confirm the locations of the query result sets. When images are found, users can see the browse image for the more accurate search. Satellite images, GIS data, attribute information of specific facilities, and reports about spatial data can be searched with this application. Database schema is built by the entity relationship. In registering the data, the records should be input into the tables with their own unique ID. Data will be found by evaluating the coordinate values in the consistent coordinate system in the spatial query. Users can keep querying associated data with the data searched previously. Being implemented in a Java application, this system can access a remote database server. But only authorized users can download the file of the resultant set. It can be extended to a GIS data library on the Internet in which people can search for necessary GIS data of their communities.
