Share the Ride with MapObjects: Use of MapObjects To Enhance an Existing Rideshare Application

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is currently undertaking a major upgrade of their RideStar (ridesharing) product, creating a Windows 95 GUI to access the databases (and procedures) that reside on a VAX server. MapObjects is being used to provide plotting capability for the Report Writer. If the initial usage of MapObjects is successful, SCAG will be able to provide improved viewing and mapping capabilities to the Ridestar product using off-the-shelf routines that will result in considerable cost savings.
