Development of Geoinformational System for Transport Committee of the Novosibirsk RegionKhorev AleksejGovorov Mike The problem of managing transport infrastructure of roads on the level of a region is connected with the necessity to collect, store, process, and analyze a large amount of variable information. To be able to generalize these data and make them ready for analysis at modern-time decision making and integrating an informational system is needed. At present, a geoinformational system is being developed for the Territorial Department of Motorways and Roads of the Novosibirsk Region. PC ARC/INFO, ArcView GIS, DBMS DB2, cartographic materials (digital maps in the scales of 1:1,000,000 and 1:200,000 of the Novosibirsk Region are available), table databases, and results of road diagnostics are some things that make up a GIS. The GIS comprises four subsystems: cartographic data input, cartographic, network correlation, and cartographic generalization. The present version of GIS is complete.
