Analyzing APC Data Using GPS, GIS, and Dynamic Segmentation Paper Text

Pace Suburban Bus Service of northwestern Illinois has been collecting automatic passenger counting (APC) data for nearly ten years. Recently, Pace decided to update the APC system because the existing hardware had reached its intended life span. Pace conducted a pilot project to evaluate an APC system that utilizes GPS to determine how to integrate data into ArcInfo and display the data using dynamic segmentation. This paper will discuss the entire project including the project setup, problems encountered, and the data evaluation using ArcView GIS Version 3.0 and ArcInfo Version 7.0.3.
