Providing Enterprisewide Solutions Using ArcView GIS, ArcView IMS, and ArcExplorer

The purpose of this paper is to describe the business processes and user needs that led to implementing ArcView Internet Map Server as a part of our enterprise solution. We discuss the three types of GIS data users identified in our organization, the tool that best meets those users' needs, and their daily use of the tool. Additional discussion focuses on the technical specifics and hurdles encountered implementing the first revision of ArcView IMS. The paper concludes with a section on lessons learned and plans for future implementation.
