An Implementation Methodology for Developing Esri Product-Based Applications
Michael J. DanielsAn implementation methodology for developing Esri product-based GIS applications is presented. While this methodology has served as a baseline for developing applications for large AM/FM clients, it is applicable for a variety of GIS applications. Identifying user requirements and converting them into high-quality applications requires a systematic approach consisting of user survey, needs analysis, database and system design, application design, development and testing, and a good user support and training plan. Successful strategies and case studies will be reviewed. In addition, advancements in Esri's products will be analyzed in order to determine their impacts on the suggested implementation methodology.
