Evaluation of the Effectiveness of GIS To Enhance Public Participation in Forest Service Public Planning Group Meetings

Edwin D. Falconer

This research examined the application and effectiveness of GIS in actual public participation processes. Two simultaneous series of meetings at two National Forests were compared. One forest had GIS support for the public meetings, the other did not. This talk will discuss the differences and the lessons learned.
