GeoPres Training in the Swedish Armed Forces

Education is one part of the GeoPres concept. It is essential to point out how we succeeded to integrate education in the concept. The first milestone for the education team is to meet the claims of united development. Our task is to implement GIS know-how in a short time and on a broad road within the organization. The presentation and the paper will describe how we created our education model to educate qualified and already occupied officers (teacher level and user level) in geographic information technology aiming the GeoPres concept based on the Swedish Defence GIS strategy; the methods, training tools, and timetables in the education concept; how the education team collaborated with other GeoPres concept projects and established their own know-how within the education concept; and the management, the teachers, the technical platform, and the mobile platform.
