GIS IM: Geographic Information System for International Missions
Goran LofThe development of GIS support started in 1995. The application development is based on prototypes at three sites, one for the Swedish battalion in Bosnia, one for education at SWEDINT, and one for development at the GIS-centrum in Stockholm. The objectives of GIS IM are to develop operational GIS support for international missions with functions for site analysis, radio communication analysis, MGI objects and symbols, educating GID IM operators, routines for supply of digital geographic data, and GIS IM simulator at SWEDINT.
