Geocoding and Address Matching in Rural Communities
Mark EvansThis presentation will describe the process being used by GeoSys to create valid addresses in rural communities. With the onset of major E911 expansion across the United States, geocoding issues in rural areas of the United States have required innovative approaches to the establishment and maintenance of "surrogate" addresses. The presentation will review the various aspects of the project and illustrate several critical technical and political issues that have been encountered. The presenters will offer suggestions on how the cleanup of rural addresses can best be accomplished on a national scale.
