Analyzing Spatially Enabled Health Care Data Using the Dartmouth Atlas Data Viewer

James F. Poage

This presentation will explore the use of The Dartmouth Atlas Data Viewer as a tool that provides visual, interactive access to vast amounts of health care information residing in very large databases. Illustrations of how one can structure user-defined analysis and import proprietary data to the database for a still more focused presentation will be described. An overview of the data model used to create the viewer will be provided along with background information about the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care, which in printed form presents readers with a view of the large geographic variations in the delivery of health care throughout the United States.
