Geographically Enabled Health Service Demand Information

This session will describe the various methodologies that are used in the creation of estimates and projections of health service demand information. The presentation will review the various sources of data published by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and include a brief overview of the NCHS's data collection program and methods. Critical data quality issues will be discussed and an evaluation of the impact of managed care on the soundness of government-collected data will be presented.
