Integrated AM/FM and GIS for an Electric Distribution System
Tommie GipsonChoctawhatchee Electric Cooperative has become a pioneer among distribution cooperatives using Esri's ArcView GIS and ArcInfo with applications developed by UA2000. Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative (Chelco) is located in the panhandle of Florida. Chelco serves 30,000 customers in an 1,800 square mile area. We have successfully integrated AM/FM with GIS. Our maps are dynamic, and now employees see any billing or map changes the next day. Trouble calls are handled more efficiently with knowledge about our system that was previously unavailable.
