Leveraging Legacy Data To Solve Outside Plant Utility Design Process - A Business Solution Through GIS
Alesia J. SipesLegacy data are an integral part of outside plant utility design. The data were typically are added manually into the design process of facility design. The use of AM/FM/GIS CAD has not solved the true design process that needs to take place in order to leverage legacy data. Without integrating legacy data to the design process, true productivity improvement with AM/FM/GIS will not be achieved by the engineer or designer. The business solution must use GIS in order to provide the appropriate output in the design process and to use legacy data internally in the design process.
