Qatar's GIS Exceeds Objectives - Challenges and Visions
Qassim Mohammed Ali Al GhanimAs Qatar's GIS turns societal, living up to ever growing expectations of the government agencies and populace alike is becoming a challenge. More organizations are coming forward to become an integral part of the GIS and to make use of its problem solving capabilities. Tuning the current system to new trends in the GIS data concepts, modeling, and Internet technology demands high overhead costs, particularly in the midst of fluctuating global economy and shrinking budgets. This paper is an attempt to highlight the strategies and vision of the GIS management to overcome the challenges and to reinforce our model for a sustainable system.
