Open Data Access ProjectDave WolfThe Open Data Access Project is a grassroots, cooperative program to investigate the implementation of geospatial information data servers and telecommunication technology resources that support NSDI. Currently partnered with USGS, USF&WS, and the Florida Marine Research Institute, the U.S. EPA hopes to include other agencies in the project as well. The goal of this project is to limit spatial data management burdens by allowing users to hit servers of other agencies via the WWW rather than downloading and locally maintaining geospatial data.
