The primary focus of this paper is to deliver a useful methodology for integrating ArcView GIS and MapObjects in scalable applications. ArcView GIS and MapObjects have a common object model. However, creating applications that can take advantage of MapObjects software's "embeddability" and ArcView GIS software's breadth of desktop GIS tools is often quite complicated. This paper will provide one successful approach for delivering desktop mapping capabilities that combine the usefulness of both GIS tools. A working knowledge of MapObjects and Avenue will benefit attendees to this session.
