The Internet has opened the door to a new way of managing information. The Web offers the ability to access Web-based data, establish links between map features and Web pages, and publish data as Web content. Internet technology provides the means for closely connecting utility businesses and customers. This presentation will look at the tools necessary to bring about widespread use of the Internet for projects including specialized AM/FM-centric search engines and Web interfaces in software. It will also examine the benefits to utilizing Web-based technology in AM/FM and provide examples of use in utilities.
