To effectively integrate and distribute environmental/GIS data in support of regulatory compliance and site remediation at SRS, Web-based technology was utilized to accomplish data access demands. Since spatial relationships are inherent to environmental data, GIS and Web technology provided an effective avenue for intuitive access to environmental and spatial data. This paper describes the implementation of a publicly accessible Web-based GIS data clearinghouse. This clearinghouse gives users the ability to view metadata, download coverage files, view Internet map server applications, link to Oracle relational databases, and access maps and photographs via a gallery application.
