Integrating GIS into Marketing: Some Practical Suggestions

The GeoLib program at Florida State University is utilizing GIS in teaching marketing principles. The first is through a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to develop a continuing education marketing research course for public librarians. The course will focus on technologies, including GIS, that improve the collection and analysis of library data for better marketing. The second opportunity is developing an Esri Virtual Campus course on spatial marketing. This presentation will describe the need for and the development of the marketing materials and courses and will benefit librarians and others who are authoring course work integrating GIS.
