Significantly Decreasing Application Costs and Successfully Managing Scope--The Graphical Feeder Case Study
Track:  Electric and Gas
Author:   Mark Olszewski
We all face the need to increase resources to get projects completed, and "time to market" becomes increasingly important in the competitive world we live in. As technology continues to mature and capabilities increase at exponential rates, the expectation for more and more applications that automate manual processes continues to overwhelm many GIS analysts and developers. This paper previews enterprisewide modeling and how it can be used to help define and scope process automation projects. In addition, it provides guidelines for defining project teams and team member accountabilities, allocating the proper mix of business and technology resources, and comparing how the level of project effort and team dynamics impact the outcome of your project.
