This exploratory paper will examine how local law enforcement agencies in the United States are utilizing computer mapping. Information will be presented that shows the most common methods of integrating this technology into local departments, what regions of the country are more likely to use computer mapping, and the types of information that are being provided by local agencies. For example, are departments providing static maps or dynamic maps? This paper will attempt to answer these questions.
