We have developed a Web GIS using MapObjects and IMS. The following functions are provided. Retrieval of geometric shapes with characters and numbers Drawing shapes with their attribute information Creating and displaying tables and graphs Finding the shortest traveling route Jumping from a geometric shape to a Web page with a URL linkage Inputting geometric shapes and attribute information on an Internet browser The client system is realized both with an ActiveX control and a Java applet. We would like to introduce these functions and report some of the problems we faced while developing this system.
