Internet- and Intranet-based GIS solutions have become increasingly popular for a variety of petroleum-related applications. Examples of several existing applications will be presented with a focus on the strengths, weaknesses, and overall effectiveness of the solution in addressing the underlying business problem. Topics of discussion include technology employed, development process, development time frame, and lessons learned during development.
