With the focus on interoperability between multiple City bureaus, an enterprise solution has been developed to meet a growing need for mass data access and sharing. This was accomplished through the creation of an enterprise GIS hub to allow for Internet client access, in addition to providing data exchange of all City-wide data into a client-requested format (DGN, DXF, SHP, MIF). This schema permitted all spatial data to be stored in one format, while being flexible enough to provide requested layers in a bureau-specific end user format. This methodology allowed for the continued use of analysis tools and GIS platform independent functions designed prior to the hub arrival.
