Advances in raster image data collection techniques are leading to a wealth of data. It's data mayhem out there, people, and quickly getting to the point that it's darn hard to figure out a pixel from a pixmap. This paper and session will illustrate many of the common misconceptions about the accuracy of data, how imagery can get mangled during map projection, why orthorectification isn't necessarily a good thing, who really has it together datawise, and where to get choice information and resources that will help GIS professionals and novices alike.
