The City of Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, the largest urban park in America encompassing 8,500 noncontiguous acres, has implemented an integrated GIS to assist in resource preservation efforts (cultural and natural), as well as strategic, capital, and maintenance planning for its 650 structures. The topics covered include meeting the application needs of a diverse user base, data modeling (object oriented), database design, data capture, and data entry strategies. Also detailed will be the critical collaboration between private/public entities for project funding and data transfer.
