The City of Logan, Utah, is taking the proverbial leap of faith to the next level of GIS consciousness. This past year we have migrated all of our data and operations to an Oracle database structure and subsequently use SDE to access our GIS information. The impetus for this change came when the City's electric utility decided to purchase ArcFM, which necessitated a complete change in philosophy and procedure. This presentation may focus on the absurd, but hopefully we will focus on our experience with needs analysis, integration, and how to avoid the pitfalls of system conversion.
