The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) takes yearly aerial photographs of districts within the State. The Oregon State Office Mapping Sciences Section has created a template to automate the process of indexing, mapping, and accessing cyclic photography using Esri system packages. As part of the federal Freedom of Information Act, all records on electronic media must be made available to the public. In order to satisfy that requirement and the needs of BLM users, the Mapping Sciences Section uses Avenue scripts and ArcView GIS extensions to establish a process that allows for quick and easy access to the map indexes by a large number of users.
