Using MapObjects to Go from ArcView GIS to the Internet in 15 Minutes
Track:  GIS on the Internet
Author:   Jeffrey W. Cowen
As Internet usage continues to grow the need to deliver and visualize spatial data has become apparent. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coastal Services Center has developed a three-step process to take almost any ArcView GIS project from ArcView GIS to the Internet in 15 minutes. An Avenue script has been created that writes all of the information about a view to a standard Microsoft initialization (INI) file. This file is then read by a MapObjects Internet Map Server enabled application that stores all of the information needed to replicate the view on the Internet.
