URS Consultants Inc. is developing the Florida DOT Turnpike District State-wide planning-level GIS. Recently efforts have begun to develop GIS applications for the Turnpike Intranet. These applications include the Turnpike Management Information System (TMIS) application. TMIS uses Visual Basic 5.0 and MapObjects LT controls. The user may zoom in and out, pan, turn on and off themes, and get project information through the map interface.
