This paper will present a case study of ArcView GIS-based zoning administration in two jurisdictions. Options on how to structure the zoning theme will be discussed extensively, along with physical (i.e., floodplains) and administrative (i.e., historic districts) themes, which affect zoning decisions. We will also identify several low-cost methods to access zoning and variance case data. Examples from two different jurisdictions will be used.
