Building Project Web Sites with Internet Map Server Technologies
Track:  GIS on the Internet
Author:   Alan L. Rao
There has been an increasing demand in project management over the Internet. My presentation describes VHB's way of building project Web sites using ISAPI and IMS technologies. In conjunction with VHB's SiteWorks Online magazine, our Project Bulletin Board offers interactive access to both private and public databases on projects from transportation, land development, and environmental services. This Web site transforms a "document center" into a "communication hub" for displaying schedule and design information. The location of a project can be mapped through either an in-house GIS database or Esri's ArcData Online services. This shows the best example of using today's GIS effectively over the Internet.
