GIS is proven to be an effective tool for managing environmental information. But how to make it more accessible to non-GIS professionals as well as the general public at less cost is more critical than ever. ArcView IMS and MapObjects IMS are the answers. At Tetra Tech NUS (TTNUS), we are developing Web applications targeting environmental data management solutions based on ArcView IMS. The paper will present the lessons and experience we have learned in the past and recommendations for similar Web application development.
