A Generic Secondary School GIS Cross Curriculum Integration Process: A Case Study
Track:  Education (K-12) and Library Science
Author:   William L. Hamilton

This presentation details a generic secondary school GIS integration process that enables total cross curriculum involvement (humanities, science, social science, and vocational) in grades nine through 12. The integration is currently being deployed at several high schools within Massachusetts and encompasses all of the technology and most of the educational frameworks currently required by State law under the Massachusetts Education Reform Act. The process is based on the use of ArcView GIS and enables integration without requiring the faculty to engage in new course development or course restructuring.
