San Joaquin Kit Fox Movements and Recovery Planning in Central California

The Endangered Species Recovery Program (ESRP) is studying the use of cultural landscapes by the San Joaquin kit fox to aid in recovery planning. Kit fox populations have become isolated due to the loss, degradation, and fragmentation of native habitats. ESRP uses ArcView GIS to study the kit fox's use of agricultural and urban landscapes to move between native habitats. The results of these studies will be used to recommend ways future development can minimize impacts on kit fox movements.
