The Danish Gas Company Naturgas Midt-Nord has very accurate data stored in a MicroStation database. Using the capability of ArcView GIS to read CAD data, an application has been developed to efficiently convert this tiled MGE and Framme data into seamless shapefiles. This highly detailed data is used by engineers in the gas company Maintenance and Service Division during fieldwork. All service vehicles have a laptop where the data can be accessed with a MapObjects-based application, thus providing the engineer with fast access to the data.
