The Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority of Riverside, California, with its member agencies, is charged with watershed management and improvement for the Santa Ana River watershed. SAWPA is deploying SAGIS 2 tools to use a local or Internet-enabled database. The Internet database will allow users to add and query data and provide tools utilizing ArcView GIS, ArcView Spatial Analyst, and ArcView 3D Analyst extensions for the analysis of Internet data. This database and the tools will simplify the connection between well location information and detailed groundwater data, allowing point and click availability of simple analysis and reporting from local data and via the connection to the Internet. This paper/presentation describes the process of database design and consensus and the tools used to create the applications needed to collect and provide regional data over the Internet.
