Streamnet is a data warehouse for fisheries and aquatic habitat information for the Pacific Northwest. Though we develop GIS data in a variety of formats, the bulk of our database is traditional, tabular data without a spatial referencing system. Or challenge was to keep our data in SQL Server tables and to make it available as spatial data over our query-driven Web site. MapObjects, SDE, and dynamic segmentation were used to achieve this objective.
