This paper will provide a glimpse of the future of speech recognition for data collection and data entry. Voice Objects, a toolbox of embeddable speech objects that allows Esri developers to speech enable their applications, has been created. The paper will provide a discussion of how developers are using speech recognition and speech command and control to speech enable their applications. Examples from the energy, transportation, and local government markets will be included. The paper will discuss how forms and work orders may now be filled out by having your form talk to you and having you talk back to the form and having the form electronically filled out.
