Historically, commercial real estate has been a laggard in regard to technology. Realticorp is changing that with the use of GIS. Realticorp believes in using a "high-tech, high-touch" approach to business. The use of GIS illustrates this approach. Realticorp has developed an MS Access/MapObjects application to be used by brokers in regional offices to collect and view point locations for major retailers nationwide. This application is very user-friendly and requires little training. In addition, Realticorp has developed an ArcView GIS application for site selection including various spatial interaction models.
