Managing and Configuring ArcInfo for Windows NT Terminal Server Users
Track:  System Implementation for GIS
Author:   Victor R. Conocchioli

The 1998 release of Microsoft Windows NT Terminal Server creates a GIS networking and application environment similar to the conventional UNIX/X-Window system. This paper describes the techniques to set up multiple licenses of ARC/INFO under the Terminal Server, manage user workspaces, and test performance within hardware specifications. The Terminal Server has served various clients ranging from Windows 95/98 to Windows NT server workstations. Multiple instances of ARC/INFO run on the Terminal Server with less memory and resources than on similar UNIX systems.
