This project discusses the accessiblity and sharing of information relevant to the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). In support of this effort, this concept and paper addresses a set of information that is available yet seldom used by the cultural heritage information community. It is the premise of this paper that spatial information can be utilized to assist in the assessment of cultural affiliation. Since human remains and associated funerary artifacts can be georeferenced, it is feasible that ancillary sets of spatial information such as aboriginal territories, reservation boundaries, and cultural event sites may be utilized to discover a relationship between unidentified human remains, funerary artifacts, and cultural affiliation.
