The U.S. Geological Survey, Energy Resources Team is completing a five-year national coal resource assessment of the contiguous United States. This presentation describes the ArcView GIS project and data library developed for the geologic assessment of coal in the Colorado Plateau region of the United States. This ArcView GIS project will be published utilizing the Esri ArcView Data Publisher as part of the USGS Professional Paper CD-ROM on the Geologic Assessment of Coal in the Colorado Plateau--Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. This presentation will discuss the ArcView GIS project and tutorial, the data library, metadata, and UNIX platform considerations.
