Statoil is establishing a corporate data store containing all prioritized subsurface information and data groups, based on the POSC Epicentre data model. Spatial information is handled by SDE. This paper describes how spatial enabling of relevant subsurface data is achieved through an integration of SDE layers and the Epicentre logical data model, using LightSIP. LightSIP is a programming interface for accessing the logical data model. Our experiences from the integration process are discussed including data management issues. The solution includes access from several clients like ArcView GIS, ArcView IMS on the Intranet, and an ArcInfo- based map production system.
