The Interagency Information Cooperative (IIC) is a consortium consisting of public agencies and is dedicated to enhance the use and access of forest resources data in Minnesota. One of the specific goals of the IIC is to promote State-wide guidelines that increase the ability of all groups to share resources data. The IIC has done this by developing a common format using spatial data from all public agencies in Minnesota. This format embodies the similarities between the databases and provides a more complete picture of forested regions of the State. The integrated database is being used by public agencies for landscape level planning and a variety of research projects. Future uses include public access for recreational use, industrial production planning, and broad scale ecological assessments.
