Heuristic Allocation of Wetlands in GIS Author: Carsten Bjornsson Rolighedsvej 23, 2 Phone: +45 3528 2212 The problem of finding the optimal allocation of purifiers is approached from an evolutionary viewpoint using a genetic algorithm. An example is presented allocating three different and spatially dependent purifiers along a 20 km network of polluted streams in the Skjern River delta, which is located in the western part of Denmark. The objective is to minimize the operations costs of such purifiers and minimize deviations from stated [Fe2+], [Fe3+], and pH, which are suitable for salmon habitat. |
