The Kangwon total GIS has four parts: tour, environment, forest, and Kangwon cultural properties. Using Esri's component GIS tools, we had programmed the applications for provincial authorities and the Web applications for county authorities inputting data with a Web browser. Furthermore both analysis programs customized using ArcView GIS and map management program for GIS team used ArcInfo were established for 16 months. Especially the analysis program got favorable comments on policy decision (effects of dam construction and its environmental assessment, forest fire simulation, finding suitable air monitoring sites in Kangwon province, etc.).
