The Hydrologic Engineering Center's HEC-GeoHMS provides geospatial tools for HEC's Hydrologic Modeling System (HEC-HMS). It is Avenue code for ArcView GIS with the ArcView Spatial Analyst extension. HEC-GeoHMS features include stream and watershed delineation, watershed and river characteristics calculation, gridded representation of the watershed for use with NEXRAD radar rainfall, and creation of basin model elements and connectivity for HEC-HMS. The development of HEC-GeoHMS began with contracted research at the Center for Research in Water Resources at the University of Texas and continues now under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) between HEC and Esri.
